Trailer Day...

Got the Hobie off the trailer today and went to work. Trailer needs a few things. Lights, bearing greased, paint and few other small things. Halfway done with sanding and priming..Here's a before and after from today.

Back to the water

Well I'll try and make this short. I have been on a few different sail boats through out the years. From local lakes to the TX coast. I have always enjoyed being on the water on any type of water craft. After I married my sweet and lovely wife we took our honeymoon in the Bahamas. We stayed at a Sandal's resort and there on the beach they had some small Hobies. I asked her, "Do you want to go out?" She asked back with fear in her voice "Do you know what your doing?" I smiled and said yes so off we went. We had a blast; stayed out for an hour or so till she got cold. Yes cold in the Bahamas!! Don't ask!!
Anyway, over the next few years I have always had a Hobie in the back of my mind. So one smoking hot day here in TX we talked about it and the search began! I spent days searching Craigslist etc.. Making calls and sending emails. I came across a nice looking 86 H16 just a short 45 min drive from home. After a several emails back and forth I set a time to go out and check it out. I made it down and meet two very nice people, Sunny and Roger. Roger had purchased the boat new in 86 and had taken very good care of it. So the deal was made and home we went. This is a pic of it still in there driveway.
